If you don't already get
Family Fun magazine, I would highly recommend it. We've had a subscription gifted to us by my mom for a few years now, and we absolutely love it. It's one of those magazines that is useful on every single page. The activities and recipes are always a huge hit with the kids (and me!). During these long dog days of summer, I love to have a handful of projects in my arsenal to work on when boredom (and bickering!) strikes. We pulled out this activity from the most recent Family Fun magazine a couple of weeks ago, and it's still being played with daily in the bathtub. We used a stack of craft foam that the kids received at their birthday party - what a great gift! The kids decided they wanted to make a "Monster Garden," so that's just exactly what we did. I cut out the monster bodies, and the kids suggested accessories and parts and pieces to make them come to life. Dreaming up the parts was just as much fun as playing with them. Need a rainy day activity? This is definitely a hit!
The foam clings to the bathtub walls (and to wet kids' tummies and backs) when wet, so they can create and re-create for hours. We've just left them on the walls to dry after bath time, and they've held up perfectly! This is definitely a must-try for an inexpensive, quick bathtub project.
[Family Fun's website is also invaluable. They have thousands of great ideas if you're looking for some boredom busters or kid-friendly recipes. I would add it to your bookmarks asap!]
